Rainbow is one of Texas’s longest-operating family-owned rinks!

Rainbow Roller Rink was founded in Houston in 1955 (over 70 years ago!) by E.L. Pruett. In the 1970s, Rainbow was acquired by Johnnie and Elaine Allen, who moved the rink to its Conroe location in 1985, where we’ve been rolling for 40+ years.
Today, Rainbow is run by the second generation of the Allen family, Mary Allen Keating and her husband Jason, and Mary’s sister Marci. Mary and Marci grew up immersed in the world of competitive speed skating and recreational skating in their family’s rink. Mary also went on to compete in roller derby.
Mary and Jason’s daughters, Calliope and Penelope, are the third generation in training to keep the Rainbow legacy alive. Both skate for the youth derby team and are learning how to run the rink alongside their parents.

Mary and Jason were instrumental in bringing competitive roller sports to our region!
Jason and Mary, both avid roller derby fans, began building a roller derby team in 2013 to serve the region’s skaters. Now, Rainbow is home to two roller derby teams, the Space City Slammers youth squad and the Conroe Cutthroats adult team.

A nationally ranked artistic skating team calls Rainbow home.
Team Unlimited skaters compete in figure, freestyle, and dance events nationwide. Fun fact! Team Unlimited's coach began her skating career at Rainbow Roller Rink as a child.
New and experienced skaters can advance their skills for fun or competition with Rainbow's low-cost skate lessons, which run from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., every Saturday.
Various speed skating teams also use Rainbow’s legendary smooth, fast floor for training sessions, and jam skaters can be found practicing during Rainbow’s public sessions.
Rainbow Roller Rink supports our students and community!
Rainbow is proud to partner with local schools through our STEAM lesson program, which combines science and skating to make learning fun.
We also support homeschool families, host school spirit events, hold fundraisers, and offer fun, affordable birthday skating parties, private skating parties, and facility rentals for all types of events for businesses and community organizations.
